DETOURS
The sixth Tabor Heights novel.
Coming from Desert Breeze Publishing.
I was recently asked to give a dedication for the book, if I had one. I declined, because the people I want to thank for the inspiration for this book probably don't even remember how it came about!
I told my publisher that the book originated in daydreams about moving to California with some writing friends many, many years ago, and the three of us living in a garret, with no electricity, eating mainly peanut butter and crackers, and Ramen noodles on a good day.
Yeah, real optimistic, huh?
Well, we had dreams about making it in Hollywood......
Somehow, through the space of 15, or 20 years, the story changed to three girls sharing an apartment in a small college town in Ohio.
There's actually a stage play for Detours, somewhere in my files. Maybe I'll try to get it produced ...... think it'll sell?
For those of you who have read previous Tabor Heights books, this is the "other" story going on during the events of The Second Time Around. The three girls who ran in and out of Daniel and Lynette's story are the main characters of Detours -- Bekka, Kat, and Amy.
